Let the Battle Begin Juste Debout

Juste Debout is an international dance competition that takes place in France annually. It has emerged as the largest hip hop dance festival in the world, showcasing local dancers as well as others from around the globe. The event focuses on six different styles of street dance, which are new style, locking, popping, house, experimental, and top rock. The competition is open to bothamateurs and professionals, who compete in battles where they show off their unique dance skills.
A battle consists of a pair of dancers working together to try and outdo another pair. Each dancer has the opportunity to dance twice for around one minute. A DJ selects the music for the dancers on the spot so that they cannot arrange moves to certain songs in advance.
Juste Debout promotes dancing as well as sharing and friendship. It is less about competition and more about being a fun and creative outlet for peoplepassionate about dancing. Besides the 3,000 plus participants, the event attracts around 16,000 spectators as well as judges who are renowned dancers from all over the globe. Juste Debout is proof that hip hop is not so underground anymore and that there is room for it in any culture.
